Base Forum brings Rota residents and US personnel together for a language exchange
"Around 45 participants practised English and Spanish through the FLEX programme."
Conversation and shared culture
According to the council, Base Forum hosted a FLEX (Foreign Language Exchange) gathering organised by the Naval Station’s Fleet and Family Support Center. The Welcome to Rota office supports the initiative, giving local residents and Americans stationed at the base a relaxed setting to talk and share experiences.
Joining future gatherings
Interested local residents can email welcomerota@aytorota.com. The municipal office collects requests and forwards them to the department at the base responsible for the programme.
